Cammell Laird has wide experience of building a wide selection of structures. These range from bespoke modular units of several tonnes to units of 230 tonnes which can be assembled into mega structures weighing many thousand tonnes.
The company works extensively in the maritime sector and has recently completed a two-and-a-half year contract worth more than £40m to build the flight decks for the QUEEN ELIZABETH II aircraft carrier. This involved building nine units ranging from 583 tonnes to nearly 1000 tonnes.
Other sectors the company can operate in includes offshore oil and gas. Here the company can build structures such as pontoons, platforms, mud mats, jack up rigs as well as the building and repairing of oil rigs themselves.
Cammell Laird can also supply the petrochemical sector installing walkways, bridges and pipework. The company can also work with companies planning shut down maintenance pre fabricating a wide range of structures.
