Non Tidal Wet Basin

One of Cammell Laird’s prime infrastructure assets is our 15 acre non-tidal wet basin.  The wet basin, which is again one of the biggest in Europe, enables us to provide heavy load in and load out services for a broad range of structures to a wide variety of engineering sectors including maritime, off shore oil and gas, renewables, civil nuclear and the petrochemical industry.

The wet basin provides our customers the option to fabricate, outfit and commission structures that are too large or heavy for road transportation.  Cammell Laird’s geographical location in the central west coast of the UK gives us easy access to transport structures to the rest of the UK and literally anywhere in the world. Equally we can receive large structures or vessels for maintenance, repair and final assembly and commissioning.

The wet basin sits in the heart of the Cammell Laird site and has direct access to the River Mersey. Its gate width is 42.7m and it has a minimum of 9m water depth.
